The Big Read Missoula

The Big Read Missoula

The Big Read Missoula is a program of events coordinated by the Missoula Public Library.  The Big Read is a program started by the National Endowment for the Arts and Arts Midwest, and is sponsored by local companies here in Missoula.

The Missoula Public Library invites you to join in the Big Read Missoula 2014 by reading one of the books for this years program.

  • The Big Read:  The Things They Carried
  • The Middle Read:  Cracker!
  • The Little Read:  Water Buffalo Days

There will be discussions, classes, events for adults and children throughout the month all based on the books that are available at the Missoula Public Library or at www.readmissoula.org.  Veterans from Vietnam to Afghanistan will have open discussions, there will be live music at some events, and even craft activities, such as Dogs at Work- stories and crafts for children in the afternoons at the library.  All of the Big Read Missoula events are designed to go with the books being read this month.

There are over 25 events this month for the Big Read Missoula and the events are geared towards every age group, with the program finale being held at Drought Works Brewery on October 29th.  For a full list of events for the Big Read Missoula and all events for the month of October please visit our Events Page, or to get more information about Big Read Missoula visit www.readmissoula.org.
