As another year draws to a close, the final countdown to new the new year is ticking away and Zootown seems to hum with a collective anticipation for the next chapter. The night where we bid farewell to the old and usher in the new, where the alluring promises of the year ahead are paired with champagne – New Year’s Eve has arrived! Missoula offers a multitude of parties, concerts, and events that are guaranteed to start 2024 off with a bang! Missoula on Main…and Beyond: Missoula on Main is celebrating its 30th anniversary of showcasing Missoula’s thriving arts and cultural scene. The festivities kick off at noon on the dot New Year’s Eve “for a day of exciting activities that cater to both the young and the young at heart”. Hosted by the ZACC, the myriad of events are bound to impress – from masquerades to Celtic pipe showcases, singing competitions to bingo – there’s no shortage of happenings. With over 30 events hosted by a plethora of local businesses – there’s something for everyone! Check out all the happenings here – we’ll see you there!
Kitchen Dwellers at the Wilma: Montana’s ‘galaxygrass’ Kitchen Dwellers will be in Missoula for their biggest New Year’s Eve blowout yet! The three-day run dubbed ‘Evening with the Kitchen Dwellers’ will begin with a VIP show at the Top Hat on Friday the 29th – followed by two days at the Wilma – culminating at midnight on NYE! Whether you’re in it for the long haul or just looking to dance your way into 2024 – we hope to see you there!
Top Hat NYE Party: Boogie down with DJ Mark Myriad & The Honey Horns and Transcendental Express to ring in the new year the right way! Mark Myriad is a Missoula household name – bringing the beats to dance parties for over a decade. “Transcendental Express weaves seamlessly between funk & samba, jazz & disco, and metal & Latin music” Missoula’s favorite funk fusion group will not disappoint. Grab your tickets before they’re gone!
Moondance – A Substance Free New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball: Looking for something a little more lowkey without losing the NYE sparkle? Look no further than the family friendly masquerade! Things kick off at 8 with chili, dancing, mocktails, and a multitude of chidlren’s activities! Complimentary event, but please consider donating! Masks not provided ;)
Missoula Public Library: Missoula Public Library activities are not to be missed! Named the best library in the world in 2022 – the MPL hosts events year-round for community members of all ages to enjoy. “Missoula Public Library and our All Under One Roof partners (spectrUM Discovery Area, Missoula’s Community Media Resource (MCAT), UM Living Lab) celebrate Missoula on Main…and Beyond…” Head to the library from 12-4 pm for aluminum foil moon crafts, jazz ensembles, Irish dancing exhibitions, Educational Indigenous Regalia performances, even an all-ages dance party!
