A Night at the Missoula Osprey

A Night at the Missoula Osprey

Written by Kathleen Goodwin

It’s a feeling almost universal—a warm summer night, hot dog in hand with a pop or a cold beer watching a game at the ballpark. Baseball is America’s pasttime, after all, and in Missoula there is no better way to partake in this long-lived American tradition than spending a night at Allegiance Field watching the Missoula Osprey Minor League Baseball team play.  The stadium is a great gathering place for couples, families, and groups alike. With ballpark food, kid’s activities, entertainment, music, fireworks and more, the ballpark is the place to be in the summertime in Missoula!

Fun Fact: The Missoula Osprey have an actual Osprey nest in the stadium!

Enjoy Entertainment for All

A night at the stadium is about more than baseball—enjoy live musical performances, fun games between innings, kids' games and more! Make sure to check out the Kids Club for special offers for children including tickets to games. Going to the Missoula Osprey games are a cost effective and fun way to spend a night with family and friends. With tickets starting at only $7 and hours of entertainment waiting, there is no reason not to check out a game.

Grab Some Ballpark Food

The concession stands at the ballpark sell hotdogs, burgers, fries, chicken tenders, popcorn, nachos and more. Grab a beer or a soda and make your way to your seats. Local craft beers can be found here, so you can enjoy a taste of Missoula. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. Or you can spend some time at Clubhouse Bar and Grill for gourmet burgers.

Spend Time With Family & Friends

Gather your crew and get ready to create lasting memories. Whether that means bouncing in the Bouncy Castle, enjoying local brews with friends, trying to catch that fly ball on the right-field hill, or watching the game, the Osprey is a great place to soak up a summer evening in Montana.

Fun Fact: Join the Kids Club for $20 and receive two tickets for every Sunday home game plus a t-shirt and a pre-game baseball clinic to meet the players.

Take in the Scenery

Ogren Park is located along the Clark Fork River with stunning views of the surrounding wilderness areas, meaning that you have views of the iconic “M,” Lolo Peak and other landmarks from your seats. Stunning sunsets are basically a guarantee at the ballpark!

Shop for Gear

Shop for Osprey gear at the Gear Hub at the ballpark. Hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts and tank-tops are available for purchase, as are baseballs and stuffed animals. Cheer on the Osprey in team colors and wear your gear with pride!

Fun Fact: You can bike or walk to the stadium along the Riverfront Trail from Downtown Missoula!

Root for the Home Team

The Osprey, the minor league team for the Arizona Diamondbacks, bring fast paced energy and a contagious love of baseball to their games. Sit back, relax, and enjoy baseball and hey, maybe you’ll even catch a fly ball. You never know what major league all-star could be out on the field, with stars like Paul Goldschmidt, Lyle Overbay, and Jose Valverde having played for the Osprey before making the big leagues.

Bonus: Timberjack Throwback Nights!

If you find yourself at the ballpark on Saturday nights, be ready for some throwback, ole fashioned fun! Before the Osprey, the minor league baseball team in Missoula were named the Lumberjacks. On Saturdays, the team wear special throwback jerseys and the music played is from the 1950s. This is a fun way to celebrate the heritage of baseball in Missoula while enjoying a night on the town.

No matter how you choose to spend your night with the Missoula Osprey, you are sure to have a great time and make memories that will last long past the 9th inning.
