An Evening with Jaune Quick-to-See Smith

Thu Nov 16 2017, 8:00 AM - 8:00 AM

This informal tour and artist talk is presented in conjunction with the national traveling exhibition "Jaune Quick-to-See Smith: In the Footsteps of My Ancestors," organized by the Yellowstone Art Museum and the first solo exhibit of the artist’s work in Montana since 1998. Quick-to-See Smith’s powerful commitment to social, environmental, and political issues-and her creative voice-have established her as a dominant figure in contemporary American art. Enjoy a no-host bar and complimentary light refreshments.

The event is free and open to the public.

With Voices in Contemporary Art, MAM connects audiences to cultural literature and significant voices in contemporary art. Internationally recognized artists, critics, and scholars present the latest art world practices and conversations, from contemporary artistic practice and aesthetic philosophy, to art criticism and art history.

Location: Missoula Art Museum 335 N. Pattee St. Missoula, MT
