The Nutcracker - Garden City Ballet

Sat Dec 16 2017, 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM

A Local Holiday Tradition for Over 30 Years!

Garden City Ballet (GCB) celebrates its 33rd season of The Nutcracker, featuring over 100 local performers! This is truly a community event, as we welcome dancers from all studios—Ballet Arts Academy, Downtown Dance Collective, On Center Performing Arts, Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre, Show Tyme, and the University of Montana. Experience timeless choreography under the direction of Michele Antonioli (Professor, UM School of Theatre and Dance, and Founder, Ballet Arts Academy) who returns as Artistic Director. Professional guest artists, Ashley Hagler (born and raised in Missoula, trained at The Juilliard School, and danced with Salzburg Ballet) and Troy Herring (originally from Oklahoma, also trained at The Juilliard School, and danced with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal) will be featured in the leading roles of Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier. The role of Clara will be danced by Audrey Kurz, an 8th grade student at Washington Middle School.
Full of holiday joy, fantasy and action, with a blend of Tchaikovsky’s music and irresistible ballet, The Nutcracker is a classic enjoyed by generations of young and old alike!

Performances will be December 15 (7:30pm), December 16 (2:00 and 7:30pm) and December 17 (2:00 and 6:00pm) in the Montana Theatre (PAR-TV Building) on the University of Montana campus.
