Wild Montana’s Shining Mountains Chapter is pleased to host a presentation by Bruce Mihelish on Lewis and Clark’s journey through the Missoula and Bitterroot valleys.
The Corps of Discovery’s journey through this perilous section of the trail was shaped by rugged mountain passes, their reliance on horses, and the assistance of Indigenous peoples.
Bruce has ground-truthed many sections of the Lewis and Clark Trail — by foot, boat, 4-wheeler, car, and on horseback. He is also a member of the Corps of Volunteers at Travelers Rest State Park in Lolo and is involved with several local and national Lewis and Clark organizations.
