Tubing is one of the hottest ways to stay cool during the summer months in Montana. The cold mountain snow melt finds its way into the rushing waters of the rivers and beckons Missoulians and visitors alike to grab a boat or tube and hit the water. Floating the Clark Fork is one of our favorite pastimes, and it is easy to see why: the gorgeous canyon and mountain views, the crisp water, the sense of community and, if it is your style, the satisfying taste of a locally canned beverage. What is not to love? There are many routes you can opt for, and we recommend checking out our Pro Tips for Floating the River before making your plans (especially if this is your first time). If you are somehow still not convinced that floating the river in Missoula should be on your summer bucket list, check out some of our favorite floating photos and become inspired to take to the water and explore Missoula by float!
