The 2014 Missoula Marathon weekend is upon us and with it the city of Missoula is packed with racers, spectators, and events. Everything kicks off on Friday with Olympian Jeff Galloway and a hike up the "M" trail on Mt Sentinel. Then in the evening a special edition Missoula Marathon Beer Run which has become an annual tradition. The Missoula Marathon Beer Run takes place at Ironhorse Brew Pub and just like last year our route will include 3- and 5-mile routes.
Saturday morning starts off bright and early for the Missoula Half Marathon runners, followed by the Missoula 5k and the Missoula Kids Marathon! Also on Saturday is the Missoula Marathon Expo which is held in the heart of downtown Missoula, outdoors in the Caras Park Pavilion. Caras Park is along the Clark Fork River and is also the site of the post race festivities on on race day. The Expo will feature many health and fitness vendors. Shop for running and fitness apparel, sample healthy snacks, learn about upcoming races and more about the city of Missoula.
The Missoula Marathon was named the Best Marathon in the United States in 2010 by Runners' World Magazine, and in 2011 The Best Tourism Event in Montana. With runners and spectators in town from all over the world, this weekend is sure to be exciting in Missoula!
