How to Spend Thanksgiving in Missoula

How to Spend Thanksgiving in Missoula

Whether you’re a longtime local or simply passing through, you’ll find plenty of ways to make the most of your Thanksgiving in Missoula. Here are some of our favorite ways to spend the holiday.

Take a Hike

If your Turkey Day feast doesn’t put you to sleep, take advantage of the last days of November with a local hike. A trek up to the M on Mount Sentinel will give you the rare chance to look out over a slowed-down Missoula as everyone enjoys their holiday at home. If you’re looking for more miles of trail, we suggest making your way to the Rattlesnake or Blue Mountain.

Skip the Cooking

Hours upon hours of cooking isn’t for everyone, and some restaurants are kind enough to provide delicious Thanksgiving feasts minus the stress and mess we usually tackle. Try Cracker Barrel, Jakers, The Montana Club, IHOP and Finn & Porter for dining options open on Thanksgiving.

Catch a Movie

We’ve all experienced the next-level laziness that comes with a giant Thanksgiving meal. If a hike sounds like a hassle, maybe a movie at the Carmike Theater is up your alley. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and Creed II will be playing.

Start Your Day with an 8k

The Turkey Day Family Fun Run is an annual favorite, and the perfect way to begin a day of festivities. Sign up for the 8k run for exclusive race swag and benefits, or enjoy the free 3k run/walk for racers of all ages and abilities.
