Draught Works is situated just barely outside the heart of downtown on Toole Street. The high wooden ceilings make for great acoustics for live bands. In the summertime the walls of the brewery open up to a wrap-around patio. Beers on tap have sassy names like, “That’s What She Said” cream ale and “Academic Weapon” Cascadian Dark Ale. Along with some delicious beers, Draught works sells cheese curds and offers a free tray of snack mix. They also have a food truck situated just outside or you can bring your own food in.
Tip: Draught Works is a brewery you definitely want to follow on Facebook. They always have special events going on like Sunday jazz, music bingo, and Wednesday trivia nights. Basically, you never know what you could be missing out on!
Just off Montana Street, minutes from downtown Missoula, Bayern has been proudly brewing as the only German microbrewery in the Rockies for over 30 years. Known throughout the Northwest for its award-winning lagers, Bayern’s lineup features classics like Pilsner, Amber, Schwarzbier, Montana Helles Lager, Dragon’s Breath Dark Hefeweizen, and St. Wilbur Weizen, alongside flavorful seasonal releases. Pair your Bavarian-style brew with an authentic currywurst, and soak in an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else in Missoula.

Kettlehouse has a taproom out in Bonner just a short 12 minute drive from Missoula. They have classic mainstays like Cold Smoke Scotch Ale, Shady New England Style IPA and Hellgate Honey Hefeweizen and seasonal picks like Fresh Bongwater Pale Ale and Montanarita Lemon Lime Beer with salt. It is always a real treat when you can catch one of your favorites on Nitro too.

Big Sky Brewing Company is located just off of the interstate and near the airport on Trumpeter Way. While visiting the Taproom you can enjoy beers like Moose Drool Brown Ale, Huck It Huckleberry Blonde Ale and Big Sky Country Pilsner, along with some specialty beers like Powder Hound Winter Ale and Ivan The Terrible Russian Imperial Stout. While you are there, be sure to check out the staircase to the mezzanine, you can look right into the brewhouse.
Tip: Reach out by phone or message to set up a guided tour of the brewhouse—they’re always excited to share their space with visitors! The Taproom welcomes guests Monday–Thursday from 11 a.m.–8 p.m., Friday–Saturday from 11 a.m.–10 p.m., and Sunday from 12–6 p.m.
