Torrents First Friday: Willard High & Ivette Kjelsrud

  • Where: Confluence Center 119 W Main St Missoula, Montana
  • When: Apr 4th, 2025 at 5:00 pm

The Confluence Center (Western Montana's Home for Nonprofit Events) art program Torrents is thrilled to present a magical evening of art and community! This month we proudly present two exhibits: Self Expression and Designing Happiness.

In the main exhibit space we are excited to present a selection of work by teens from Willard Alternative High School with Self Expression.Through a variety of mediums and processes, art is an extremely important part of the Willard experience and self expression is highly encouraged. Enjoy wide array by these young talents as they reflect the unique personality of Willard!

Next, in the Bitterroot space, we present Ivette Kjelsrud with Designing Happiness, a local artist re-emerging onto the art scene and inviting viewers to see the world through a lens of beauty and transformation. Through layers of encaustic wax, oil paint, and mixed media, this curated selection of works captures Ivette’s journey toward harmonizing the shadows and light of my past and present. Each piece is intentionally crafted to transform personal and inherited stories into expressions of resilience, depth, and beauty.

The opening will take place First Friday, April 4th at the Confluence Center at 119 W Main St, Missoula, MT, and runs 5-8pm. Live music by John Floridis, plus free snacks and drinks provided. The exhibit will remain on display through April 25th, and can be seen by appointment through the Center: 406-926-6526
