"Everyday Treasures" Exhibit Opening and Birthday Party!

  • Where: Historical Museum at Fort Missoula 3400 Capt Rawn Way Missoula, Montana
  • When: Sep 19th, 2025 at 5:00 pm

It's not everyday you turn 50, so we’ve created an exhibit with some of our most treasured artifacts from the first decade of the museum and we’re sharing how we keep your most meaningful items safe in our collection. Kitchenware and agricultural tools to vintage toys and clothing, these objects represent the cultural history Missoulians, in the 1970s and 1980s, felt was worth preserving for generations to come. Visitors step “behind the scenes” and view items in the same cabinets, shelves, and boxes where they are stored year-round!
You’ll see a few of the first items the Museum received and a spattering of the things you felt were worth preserving. The exhibit, “Everyday Treasures” opens Friday, September 19th and we’ll be celebrating our 5oth anniversary right where it all started at the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula from 5pm to 7pm.
Expect a few founding faces, birthday cake, party favors and more! The museum will continue the celebration throughout the weekend with free admission through the 21st and party favors for visitors.
