Heroes of Hospitality is a recognition and celebration of the incredible individuals who make up Missoula's hospitality industry. Destination Missoula and the Missoula Tourism Business Improvement District want to share their stories and invite the greater Missoula community to join us in thanking these individuals for their commitment to providing the best Missoula experience to our visitors. This year there were 41 total nominations for 30 nominees and 9 hotel properties participated. We will announce all of the finalists weekly.
“Ellie is family. That’s the first word I think of because she genuinely treats everyone like they’re family. She’s unstoppable; there doesn’t seem to be a limit to what she’s willing to do. And she’s selfless. The number of times I’ve seen her put somebody ahead of herself–in both a personal and professional capacity–is pretty awesome.”
-Kim Sawyer, General Manager
"What sets him apart from others, is that he has always been willing to do whatever is needed. To do more than what is asked. Doing laundry, training a new person, or taking on a board bigger than what he was hoping for that day. It is really good to see someone that works that hard."
-Dean Fiedler, General Manager
“Luke’s just great. He really is. He’s got all the fundamental strengths to be amazing at anything he does. He means a lot to me, he’s a very special friend. I wouldn’t have made it through the past couple of years without his support, so it was great to nominate him this year.”
-Amanda Kerr, General Manager
Meghann is the epitome of the phrase ‘Hero of Hospitality.’ She is our anchor here at the hotel, she sets the positivity for the day, she continuously encourages us to keep improving, to keep raising the bar, to keep excelling in whatever we do. She’s phenomenal.”
-Annie Darby, General Manager
“Nominating Annie was honestly super easy to do. If you watch her everyday, she’s always the first one to respond to any conflict that arises, always the first one to help with any issue you might have, she never leaves anyone behind. She’s the demonstration of a great leader.”
-Ryan Stenerson, Human Resource Manager
