New Year's Eve is on its way, and whether you have had your plans in place for weeks or are looking for that perfect way to ring in the new year, we are here to help. With great dining options in all price ranges, dozens of bars, distilleries and breweries to cheers to the new year, and parties, concerts and events to fill any calendar, Missoula is the perfect place to say so long to 2022 and welcome 2023! Here are some of our favorite events on New Year's Eve this year, but be sure to check out our events calendar if you are looking for other ideas, too.
Missoula on Main: Nothing screams New Year's Fun for all like Missoula on Main hosted by ZACC. This celebration of arts, culture, food and all things Missoula takes place all day on December 31st with events ranging from tshirt painting to dance lessons, ice sculpting demonstrations to cake tasting and so much more. The schedule also features dozens of concert and music events including the Missoula Symphony Showcase and culminates in a street party (more info below!) and a Midnight Masquerade at the Elk Club For more information or to view the full line-up of events, check out the calendar here.
New Year's Eve Street Party: One of the many Missoula on Main events, the New Year's Eve Street Party is sure to be a fun time for all. The party takes place on Main Street between Washington and Pattee beginning at 10pm and includes music, food and fun.
Shakewell at Top Hat: An annual tradition, dance your way into the new year with Missoula's own Shakewell. This show is so popular that it usually sells out, and 2022 is no different. Get on the waiting list here or try to score resale tickets if you are wanting to spend the evening grooving and moving at Top Hat.
Pangea New Year's Eve Extravaganza: Pangea will be open for normal lunch and dinner business hours, and then at 9pm the place will transform into the place to be this New Years Eve in Missoula. DJ Zichos will be spinning tunes under the disco ball for a night of "classy but rowdy" fun including free champagne and giveaways as well as cocktails and delicious food.
New Year's Eve Dinner at FINN: Located in the DoubleTree in downtown Missoula, FINN is a great bar and restaurant with outstanding river views. This New Year's Eve, "ring in the New Year with an exquisite 5 or 3-course pre-fixe dinner, wine pairings, Sparkling Wine Flights & live music!" Reservations are suggested.
The Lil Smokies at the Wilma: An annual tradition, ring in the new year with Missoula's own The Little Smokies at the beautiful Wilma Theatre. Purchase tickets in advance-- this event sells out!
First People's Market: Hosted by Indigenous Made Missoula, the First People's Market will take place from 12-5pm at the Residence Inn by Marriott Here you will find beautiful and carefully crafted items while supporting local Indigenous makers. Indigenous Made Missoula was founded in 2022 with the mission to provide Indigenous people to express themselves through art while also providing opportunities for economic advancement.
Dead Hipster Dance Party: Dance the night away at Monk's Bar! This 21+ event starts at 9am. Pay at the door or get tickets in advance.
Missoula Public Library Activities: If you have not seem the new Missoula Public Library, named the best library in the world in 2022, then you are really missing out. This year, "the Missoula Public Library and All Under One Roof partners spectrUM Discovery Area, Missoula’s Community Media Resource (MCAT), UM Living Lab, and Families First Learning Lab celebrate Missoula on Main." Join the library for tons of fun for all ages from 12-5 PM including events like jazz music, maker space activities, drumming sessions, and so much more.
