Skip the Chocolates, Find Connection: A Love & Friendship Celebration in Nature

  • Where: Marshall Mountain Park 5250 Marshall Canyon Road Missoula, Montana
  • When: Feb 17th, 2024 at 5:00 pm

Join Sylke, a certified Forest Therapy Guide, for an enchanting night of reconnecting with your loved one (or friends!) and with the serene beauty of nocturnal nature.

Gathered around the bonfire at the base of this former ski resort, I will guide you on a series of invitations crafted to connect you with each other, nature, and your inner selves.

Expect to experience nature in a mindful way, share your insights and revelations with other participants, and enjoy a cup of warm tea and snacks in a closing ceremony. There will be slow wandering and perhaps some wondering why you don't do stuff like this more often.

Whether you're a couple or friends, this is a chance to celebrate love, friendship, and the simple beauty of nature in a meaningful way. The only diamonds we'll admire are the constellations in the sky.

The event is inspired by the Japanese practice of Forest Bathing, shinrin-yoku, which encourages our bodies and minds to slow down, disconnect from the stressors of our modern lives, and deepen our relationship with the natural world. In doing so, we open the door to the healing properties of forests.

Sylke is a Forest Therapy Guide certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. Guides are not therapists, and these walks are not intended as therapy; however, the practice itself can be considered therapeutic.

If you're giving dry a try this month, Missoula has plenty of spots for mocktails. Check out some of our favorites
