Winter in Montana is a beautiful and quiet time to explore nature. It may seem that not much is going on, but for the curious naturalist, it is a fantastic time for learning and discovery. In this 6-week course, you will learn how to identify trees, shrubs, birds, lichens and mammals during winter, and we will discuss how they are adapted to survive our coldest months. There will be 3 classroom sessions at the University of Montana, and 3 field trips to natural areas in Missoula for guided exploration.
