Missoula was dubbed the #1 Best City for Yoga, and for good reason. Thanks to the ever-growing yogi community around the world, Apartmentguide.com compiled a list of the top ten U.S. cities for yoga lovers by looking at the highest number of yoga-related studios per capita. And with opportunities to find your flow around every corner, Missoula came out on top.
“The state's cultural center, Missoula has a diverse demographic from working-class loggers to college students and retirees looking for some quiet. Missoula also takes our top spot for best city for yogis — with 9.4 yoga establishments per capita, you can find relaxation anywhere.”
And by anywhere, they mean just about everywhere. There are 20 establishments in Zootown that advertise yoga classes. From standup paddle board yoga with studios like Hot House Yoga, to Yoga in the Park events all summer, Missoula’s top yogis offer opportunities for every experience level to practice their "Om."
It's about more than the sheer number of studios, though—it's about Missoula's overall culture. Apartmentguide.com goes on to say, “This small community boasts several festivals, like the International Wildlife Film Festival, one of the first juried wildlife film festivals in the world. Its downtown area is home to some yoga studios, boutiques and fine dining establishments along with its busy event calendar."
Whether you are a lifelong yogi, or just looking for a new way to unwind, Missoula is the place to be. We’ll see you on the mat!
