Missoula's Quinn Wolferman Prepares for 2021 X-Games

Zootown's own Quinn Wolferman is returning to the X Games this weekend, repping Missoula in the Men’s Ski Big Air and Ski Knuckle Huck events. NBC Montana caught up with Wolferman earlier this week as he was preparing for the big weekend.

Wolferman has skied his entire life, so it wasn’t a surprise when he brought home a medal as a rookie in the Knuckle Huck event last year. This weekend, Wolferman could bring home three.

"It's cool to have such an awesome community behind me and I feel like over the years it's only gotten stronger which is super awesome you know,” Wolferman told NBC Montana. “Hopefully I can come back and be able to have a medal. I mean I don't really care what color it is honestly just hope to do my best and show people what I got regardless. Obviously coming home and being able to have a gold medal around my neck would be amazing."

The X Games are unarguably one of the biggest stages in the skiing world, but Wolferman isn’t ready to stop there—he's aiming for a chance to compete in the Olympics next year.

"If I really am buckling down and focusing on that I think anything is really possible and you know and I can find myself in china a year from now and that would be incredible."

This year’s event is closed to the public due to the pandemic, but is available to view on the X Games Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, the ESPN app, and even at the Press Box in Missoula for the Wolferman family watch party. Don't forget to tune in and support this Missoula native!
