Movies in the Park

Movies in the Park

Movies in the Park is a beloved Missoula summer tradition that brings neighbors, friends, and families together under the stars. Hosted by Front Step Community Land Trust, this annual outdoor cinema series is the perfect way to enjoy our cool summer evenings—lawn chair, blanket, and popcorn in hand.

The tradition began back in 2002, when about 500 people gathered for just two screenings. Since then, Movies in the Park has grown into a staple of summer in Missoula, expanding beyond its roots in the historic Northside to also include screenings at Franklin School and the Missoula Fairgrounds.

More than just a movie night, this series is a celebration of community. By offering low to no cost films in Missoula’s lower-income neighborhoods, the event helps foster neighborhood connections while also raising funds to support Front Step’s work—building affordable homes, strengthening communities, and creating thriving neighborhoods.

Arrive early, and you’ll find kids running across the play areas, neighbors catching up before the sun sets, and the irresistible smell of popcorn filling the air. Then, as night falls, the big screen lights up and the magic begins.

Find the full schedule of screenings and locations on their website and plan your perfect Missoula movie night!
