The California Honeydrops draw on diverse musical influences from Bay Area R&B, funk, Southern soul, Delta blues, and New Orleans second-line. From humble beginnings busking in an Oakland subway station to headlining international tours, The Honeydrops continue to grow their fanbase with energetic live shows and infectious dance-party vibes. Their concerts feature extensive jamming, improvisation, and crowd interaction.

In 2022, the California Honeydrops celebrated their fourteenth year together with the release of their latest studio album, Soft Spot. Soul and Jazz and Funk positively reviewed the album, stating “The band clearly has a great time in making this record and a good time is guaranteed for all who listen.”
