The University of Montana Grizzlies are a prized part of the Missoula community.
The Grizzlies have repaid the community for its support with prominent records in NCAA Division 1 athletics.The athletic teams are nicknamed the Grizzlies and compete in the NCAA's Big Sky Conference. Since the 1990's, the Grizzlies have established themselves as one of the most dominant football teams in both the Big Sky Conference and in NCAA Division 1AA.
The University of Montana has 14 intercollegiate programs in men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, football, women's golf, women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, and women's volleyball.
