There is a reason the Missoula Farmers Markets are on every Missoula-must list–they truly are an experience and a showcase of the devotion to and care for our local farmers, ranchers, small-businesses, and creators. Every Saturday from May to October, downtown Missoula plays home to three markets: the Missoula Farmers’ Market, the Clark Fork River Market, and the Missoula People’s Market. In addition to housing vendors selling everything from local produce and meats to homemade soaps and hot sauces, market days also serve up food trucks, live music, and a sense of community unlike no other. The Missoula People’s Market is a great place to browse the work of local artists and creators and support the amazing arts and cultural scene of Western Montana.
Missoula attracts headliners year-round, and summertime brings an especially impressive music line-up. With two outdoor amphitheaters, KettleHouse Amphitheater and Big Sky Brewing Amphitheater, it is no wonder that Missoula has become a regional destination for live music under the big summer sky. Attending an amphitheater concert is an unforgettable experience and should be on the do-to list for all locals and visitors alike this summer in Missoula.
Every Wednesday from June to August, go Out To Lunch in downtown Missoula’s Caras Park! Food vendors serve up some delicious grub, live music plays from the stage, and the community gathers to celebrate summer together. This beloved summer tradition is a great way to experience the authentic vibe of Missoula while enjoying the sun, the sounds of the Clark Fork River, which runs alongside Caras Park, and soak up the feeling of freedom that summer brings!
Whether you are a baseball fanatic or a novice, fun is sure to be had at the Missoula PaddleHeads’ games, Missoula’s minor league baseball team. Ogren Park at Allegiance Field, located along the banks of the beautiful Clark Fork River, is as scenic as it comes. Take in the sunset over the mountains while eating ballpark fare and sipping on an ice-cold local brew, all while enjoying the talent of the home team. With a packed home-schedule, there are many chances to take in a game this summer.
Another favorite in the summertime, Downtown ToNight is a Missoula-must! Thursday nights from June to August, Caras Park is the place to be for food, music, art, and community.
